Sanrio's Gudetama Pop-Up Opens at Shoryu Ramen London
Gudetama has arrived in London, and he's currently hanging out in bowls of ramen at Shoryu Go. For those of you have no idea who Gudetama is, he's a character invented by cute Japanese superbrand Sanrio - a loveable lazy egg who spends a lot of time moping about doing... well, not a lot!
Theme cafes are big news all over Asia and the UK is hot on their heals. With infinitely instagrammable cafes popping up all over the place we're in no doubt that Sanrio's Gudetama residency will be a magnet for fans of Japanese kawaii culture during it's 2 week stint at Shoryu.
The pop-up makes its home in Shoryu's cosy Air Street branch, which has a real Tokyo ramen joint vibe about it. Slurp your noodles while you people watch or sit at the counter to enjoy the sights and smells of the Shoryu chefs preparing your food.
The egg-stra special set menu has veggie and vegan options and for £22 you get a drink + bun + ramen + dessert plus a limited edition keyring*
Choose from Calpico (a Japanese soft drink which tastes a little like Yakult) or mango tea, a mushroom and halloumi or pork bun, vegan or tonkotsu ramen and matcha or yuzu cheescake to finish.
There's also a range of merchandise to get your paws on including tote bags, mugs and notebooks. Find them in store at Shoryu go, online and at Japan Centre Panton Street and Ceramics & Sushi.
