Celebrating Cherry Blossom Season with Clearspring Organic
This week Love Japan Magazine were lucky enough to be invited to an evening of Japanese food, culture and cherry blossom. Hosted by organic food brand Clearspring the event was a celebration of 25 years in business providing authentic Japanese and organic fine foods. Photographers Lawrence Fenton and Saoirse Clohessy were on hand to capture the evening and sample some of the delicious canapés and cocktails.
Clearspring products range from miso soups and tofu to seasonings, teas, oils and snacks. What's more, all products are 100% vegan, with no added nasties either, so you can buy their products safe in the knowledge that you're getting delicious organic food from a company with a conscience.
"Our core belief is that everyone should have access to quality organic food to eat well. Our products make a valuable contribution to sustainable agriculture, by supporting organic farmers and artisan food producers. Through enriching the soil and caring for the eco-system, we are protecting the world that we pass on to our children". - Clearspring

Co-hosted by the Japanese Embassy and Whole Foods Market UK, the event featured demos and talks from a variety of chefs and bloggers and was hosted by Jay Morjaria, vegetarian chef, writer and food consultant.
A sake barrel break (kagami-biraki) kicked off the event in a traditionally Japanese style and guests were treated to a fascinating look back over Clearspring's first 25 years in business and how new talent has been welcomed into the Clearspring family.
Sake was provided by Tazaki Foods and we sampled Shirakabe Gura Mio, a deliciously sparking and sweet sake.
Sara Kiyo Popowa aka Shiso Delicious is well known for her colourful, nutritious and natural plant based food creations and showed guests how to style a healthy bento box. We loved Sara's insightful tips for making food colourful and eye catching for social media, and also enjoyed sampling her no-bake matcha brownie bites, which were absolutely delicious and made from raw ingredients.
Atsuko Ikeda, founder of Atsuko's Kitchen and author of Sushi Made Simple has been hosting cookery workshops for 10 years and has a real love for teaching and sharing her passion for food. She shared cooking tips and showcased her impressive and colourful veggie sushi, styled to look like traditional fish sushi.
